We understand that receiving a cancer diagnosis can
be a difficult and emotional experience. Our Oncology Management Programme
offers members or their dependants diagnosed with cancer the information,
education, and support they need to manage their condition. With the incredible
advancements in treatment currently available, cancer can be beaten.
By registering on the Oncology Programme, patients
will be able to access their oncology benefits and contact the programme
directly for advice, support, and education relating to their cancer treatment.
The Oncology Programme is supported and guided by
international and local best-practice, evidence-based guidelines.
If you are diagnosed with cancer, your oncologist
should submit a proposed care plan for pre-authorisation before treatment can
begin. This care plan should include the date of diagnosis, ICD-10 code, the
type of cancer treatment being planned (such as chemotherapy or radiation), any
previous history of treatment or surgery, as well as the approximate costs.
For further information and submission of care plans, please contact us on 061 285 5400 or via email: oncology@care.nhp.com.na
