The NHP Board of Trustees are elected by the members of the Fund and manage the affairs of the Fund on behalf of the members in accordance to the Medical Aid Fund Act, 1995 (Act 23 of 1995) and the Fund Rules.
The Board is responsible for formulating a strategy and effecting comprehensive oversight of the Fund’s activities, whilst the Principal Officer is the Executive Officer of the Fund, charged with implementing the strategy as set out by the Board.
Mrs. Garosas served on the NHP Board for five years and comes with a wealth of experience in various industries, including print media, education, and the public enterprises sector. She is a Human Resources and Finance professional with over 13 years of experience in strategic human resources management, financial management, strategy development and corporate governance. Mrs. Garosas was appointed as Principal Officer of NHP as of August 2022.
The Principal Officer reports to the Board of Trustees and is responsible for the monitoring of the day-to-day activities of the Fund, to ensure that implementation of strategies approved by the Board of Trustees takes place and to ensure that the Fund’s activities are conducted according to sound governance principles. The Principal Officer is also responsible to guide the Board of Trustees within the legislative and regulatory framework of the medical aid sector.
Mr. Wilko Duvel, Head of Finance at Namibia Dairies, was appointed to the NHP Board of Trustees in February 2020.
Mrs. Helga Volschenk, a Consultant at HV Consultants, was elected to the NHP Board of Trustees in June 2019.
Mr Phillip Nghifitikeko is Chief Officer at the Motor Vehicle Fund, and was elected to the NHP Board of Trustees in June 2022.
Mrs. Roxzaan Witbooi, Head of Compliance at Standard Bank Namibia, was appointed to the NHP Board of Trustees in January 2021.
Ms. Lillian Esme Botes, Managing Director of Medfam Holdings, was appointed to the NHP Board of Trustees in June 2019.
Dr Kwasi Yeboah, a Specialist Surgeon at Erongo Surgical, was appointed to the NHP Board of Trustees in June 2021.
Mrs. Taimi lileka-Amupanda, a Director at Sisa Namandje & Co, was elected to the NHP Board of Trustees in June 2021.
Ms. Therisia Titus is Chief Property Consultant at NamWater, and was elected to the NHP Board of Trustees in June 2022.
Ms. Melissa Van Zyl, Head of Risk & Governance at Old Mutual, was elected to the NHP Board of Trustees in June 2020.
Mr. Percy McCallum, a Consultant with own practice, was appointed to the NHP Board of Trustees in June 2018.
Mr. Immanuel Kadhila, Managing Director at EOS Capital, was elected to the NHP Board of Trustees in June 2021.
Mrs. Dantagos Jimmy-Melani is the Founder, MD and Lead Consultant at Ndapunikwa Investment PTY LTY and Ndapunikwa Investments CC, she was appointed to the NHP Board of Trustees in August 2022.
